Exploring Ascendium’s High Altitude Research Drone and Guitar

Ascendium introduces groundbreaking designs at Amo 2023, featuring a high-altitude research drone and a custom guitar designed to showcase their new line of element materials.

High Altitude Research Drone

The high altitude research drone is a marvel of engineering, designed to simplify the entire system into one or two parts. Crafted using Ascendium’s special element material, it offers fire retardancy, UV resistance, and temperature resistance down to -60°C, making it ideal for high-altitude flights.

Zach, the designer, highlights the efficiency of the design, breaking down the complex assembly into an electronics enclosure and a single assembly covering motor mounts and blade guards. The drone, printed on the Ascendium 280, is a testament to the capabilities of their unique material.

Ascendium Guitar

Not stopping at drones, Ascendium presents a custom-designed guitar featuring their nylon material, HT in Black. The stiffness of the material ensures the guitar stays in tune, and with magnetic inserts, users can easily customize the design. The guitar showcases various end patterns achievable through 3D printing, from gyroid to triangular fills.

Zach emphasizes that the designs are support-free and highlights the speed of the drone print, taking only six hours to complete. The company’s commitment to innovation is evident in their USA-based facilities, with headquarters in Texas and an additional facility on the West Coast.
