Today, let’s delve into the remarkable features and capabilities of the 22 IDEX V2 3D printer. Born out of the need for a reliable, high-temperature printer for daily use in a production environment, this machine is designed to deliver consistent performance day in and day out.
Key Features
The 22 IDEX V2 boasts several unique features that set it apart. These include a triple-motor auto bed leveling system, automatic tool head alignment for the X and Y, nozzle Z height calibration, a quad-motor gantry system, a 500°C hotend, and a 90°C actively heated chamber. The printer also features a 200°C self-leveling build plate, all enclosed in a sturdy steel frame. Control is facilitated through well-known open-source Duet 2 Wi-Fi control boards or Ethernet for military and DOD customers.
What’s New in the V2?
The V2 introduces upgrades such as the American-made Copperheads from Slice Engineering and the new LGX Pro extruders from Bondtech. With over 150 changes based on user feedback and experience, the V2 incorporates more metal parts, interface and firmware improvements, and numerous tiny details throughout the machine.
Hot-Ends and Extruders
The 22 IDEX V2 features 500°C and 100°C hot ends, equipped with American-made Copperheads from Slice Engineering. The new LGX Pro extruders from Bondtech ensure excellent performance, offering consistent extrusion for high-quality prints. The machine supports a 1.75mm open material system, allowing the use of a wide range of filaments, including high-temp, low-temp, carbon fiber, glass fiber, and even metal-filled materials.
Actively Heated Chamber and Self-Leveling Build Plate
The 90°C actively heated chamber is crucial for printing engineering materials like nylon or polycarbonate, preventing warping and curling. The 200°C self-leveling build plate eliminates the need for manual leveling knobs and incorporates adaptive mesh leveling using a new servo-mounted probe. The mechanically self-leveling bed ensures accurate calibration even at high temperatures.
Open-Source Duet 2 Wi-Fi Control
The 22 IDEX V2 is powered by the open-source Duet 2 Wi-Fi or Ethernet edition, providing flexibility and customization options. Unlike other printers, this firmware is not locked down, allowing users to modify it according to their preferences. The machine supports a wide range of user-created modules and functions, offering endless possibilities for customization.
Dual Extrusion Modes
With the ability to operate in single extrusion, dual extrusion, duplicate mode, and mirror mode, the 22 IDEX V2 offers versatility in 3D printing. Duplicate mode allows printing two identical parts simultaneously, effectively doubling production output. The independent dual extruder system ensures reliable printing without the risk of oozing or material contamination.
Speed, Accuracy, and Power
The printer supports travel speeds of up to 500mm/s, although actual print speeds may vary based on material characteristics. The motion system is capable of 10 microns on the X and Y axes and 7 microns on the Z-axis. Powered by a standard 110-volt plug, the machine is suitable for use in various locations, and support is provided by the Vision Miner team based in the USA.
In Stock and Ready to Ship
At the time of filming, the 22 IDEX V2 is in stock and ready to ship. However, due to high demand, it is recommended to contact Vision Miner promptly to secure your allocation. The team expresses gratitude for the support received from customers and the community, promising more updates and innovations in the future.
