Hey everyone, it’s Rob here at Vision Miner, and today I’m thrilled to dive into our latest offering of 3D scanners. Just this morning at Formn 2023 in Germany, Shining 3D has unveiled the Free Scan Trio, an absolutely groundbreaking new 3D scanner.
Earlier this year, Shining impressed us with the Free Scan Combo, and now they’ve got their ISO 17025 accreditation and they’re back to steal the spotlight with the new Free Scan Trio, an incredible new device that’s going to completely redefine laser 3D scanning. So let’s get into the details.
Marker-Free Laser Scanning
The Free Scan Trio is a leap forward in laser 3D scanning technology. It features a robust triple-camera system paired with a whopping 98 laser lines, all working in harmony for marker-free laser scanning. This is a huge game-changer, saving a ton of time in preparation while still being insanely accurate, metrology-grade, suitable for inspection, not just reverse engineering.
Speed and Field of View
The scanner is incredibly fast, capturing a mind-blowing 3,000 times faster than the Free Scan Combo. It has a generously large field of view at 650 x 580 mm (25 x 22 in), allowing you to grab more data in fewer sweeps. Imagine scanning the entire underbody of a car in 2 to 3 minutes or an entire helicopter in under an hour.
Versatility of Free Scan Trio
The versatility of the Free Scan Trio doesn’t stop at marker-free laser scanning. It offers single laser line mode, seven parallel lines, 26 cross lines, and 98 crossed lines, as well as photogrammetry. No matter the industry or project, this scanner is ready to perform at a very high level.
Accuracy and Photogrammetry
When it comes to accuracy, the Free Scan Trio achieves razor-sharp precision down to 0.02 mm or 20 microns, metrology inspection level. The photogrammetry mode works in tandem with Shining 3D’s practical magnetic scale bar, fine-tuning volumetric accuracy to an impressive 0.02 mm plus or minus 0.015 mm per meter.
Conclusion and Availability
The Free Scan Trio is a reliable and potent measuring tool that every engineer and designer needs to have in their shop. If you’re interested in this device, it’s available on our store, supporting us and the channel. If you have any questions or are looking for scanning demonstrations, contact us at contv@vision.com. Thanks for watching, and stay tuned for my hands-on first look at Form Next. Have a positive rest of your day, and I’ll see you in the next video!
