Hello, fellow 3D printing enthusiasts! Today, we’re going to dive into a crucial aspect of 3D printing – leveling the build plate. Ensuring that your build plate is perfectly calibrated is essential for successful 3D prints. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process, and before you know it, you’ll be leveling like a pro.
Preparation: Operating Temperatures
Before you begin, it’s crucial to ensure that your 3D printer is at its operating temperatures. Trying to level the build plate when the machine is cold can lead to issues as the parts will contract and expand, affecting the quality of your prints. Let’s get those systems up to their proper temperatures:
- Nozzle Temperature: 400°C
- Print Bed Temperature: 160°C
- Chamber Temperature: 90°C
With the temperatures set, we’re ready to move on to the next steps.
Using the Touch Screen
Your 3D printer’s touch screen will be your guide for this process. Follow these steps to ensure the perfect build plate level:
- On the home screen, select “Build Plate.”
- Refer to the provided guide or online manuals for detailed instructions.
- Using a 0.2mm metal feeler gauge and a hot glove, proceed to the next step.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to adjust the build plate screw using the calibration card.
- Continue this process for each of the three corners of the build plate.
- Once complete, your build plate is successfully leveled.
And that’s it! Your build plate is now perfectly calibrated and ready for your 3D printing adventures.
A great feature of this 3D printer is the well-engineered and sturdy build plate, which doesn’t vibrate or flex during adjustments. This means your calibration will stay in place, and you won’t have to constantly readjust it.
